Today was very awesome. We had the opportunity to go to the Nevin's church and see Mexican teenagers around our ages. Some of them actually spoke pretty well in English. After church, we went out to lunch at a Pollo (chicken) place. The food was excellent. The hole menu included rice, beans, and chicken. When finished eating we proceeded to go and hand out tracks to the children in Texcoco and surrounding areas. Many of those children or their parents accepted the tracks and invitation to the VBS held this Mon-Fri. As we were handing out tracks at Texcoco, rain started to approach the area. Though two of the five of our group had umbrellas we all were completely soaked by the time we made it back to shelter. The family the boys were staying with offered us bath towels to get a little dry after a pouring down storm. We finally came home and Susan, Matt, and Jodi had supper cooked and ready to eat. The food has been a real Mexican treat and very delicious. Afterwards all of the 20 members of the group got changed into dry clean clothes. So a really exciting day today and I am positive that there will be many more!!!! Tomorrow is the start of VBS---this is what i have been waiting for all trip for :) Love you all,
Jessica Kennedy
